About us..

Urdu Learning Club is an informal group of friends learning to speak Urdu/Hindi together in Helsinki, Finland. It got started as an idea when people who know the language and their friends who want to know the language, combined their interests. Although spoken Urdu and Hindi are practically the same languge, they are written with different alphabets. Because Urdu is used in most of Pakistan, and Hindi in some parts of India, learning the spoken language enables communication in both countries. See the map of India and Pakistan.

How to learn Urdu and enjoy it..

Joining us

If you, your wife, husband, friend or children (over 12) are interested in learning Urdu, it is possible to join our group now.  We use both English and Finnish to help us understand Urdu. Apart from learning Urdu language, we chat about everyday life in Pakistan/India, about culture, about cooking, about Bollywood movies, in other words, we have fun. Sometimes we meet for dinner or arrange some other activities together.

Someone who knows some Urdu can hop in at any time. Absolute beginners also welcome; we are all learning at different stages. For details, please contact Seija Sultan, s.sarell@luukku.com (040-7289962).
